Music: I'm actually not listening to anything... IT'S ARMAGEDDON!!
The unfortunate childhoods of these four characters (and possibly Kikyo if I can get some ideas) will be split up into four sections, all flowing chronologically from when they were born: Sesshomaru, InuYasha, Miroku, and lastly, Kagome. I apologize to Sango fans out there. I love her as much as you do, but we generally know what happened to her. Things didn't start going bad until her family was slaughtered, and that was in the anime, so I don't really have a lot to write about her, unless, of course, I recieve any suggestions. If violence, violence, and/or violence offend you, you should probably leave while you have the chance. (It'll be in the later chapters, trust me!)

Part 1- Sesshomaru
Chapter 1- And Your Point?
A young child, no older than eight or nine, stood in front of a large double door, hands to his side, standing with perfect posture. His deadpan face was scratched and bruised and the left sleeve on his kimono was scarcely hanging on by a thread.
“My lord,” A woman said, opening the door for him. She seemed shocked at his current condition.
“Don't ask,” the boy snapped, a throaty growl emanating from his lips. He walked up stairs and pounded impatiently on another door. “Father, I have returned.”
A man opened the door, his silver hair hanging loosely over his bare chest, golden eyes fixed on the boy. His mouth opened slightly but words did not come out.
“Father, I need new clothes…”
“Obviously!” He huffed, flailing his hands into the air. “What in the seven hells happened to you?”
“I got into a fight, Father,” The child stated coldly.
The man sighed, leaning his shoulder against the door post. “Sesshomaru… that isn’t like you at all. Did you get hurt?”
“No!” Sesshomaru shouted. “Do not speak so lowly of me! I, Sesshomaru, do not feel pain!”
His father nodded, not in agreement, but in sympathy. He didn’t raise his son to behave this way, nor had his wife. “Did you hurt anybody?”
“I killed two annoying children…” Sesshomaru hissed, picking dirt from beneath his nails so as to occupy himself and keep from smiling.
“You what?” He exclaimed, eyes wide with anger. “You didn’t!”
“I did," he said simply. "They would not get out of my way. It had to be done.”
“No it didn't!” His father shouted smacking the child hard on his face, leaving four thin slits left over from the impact of his father’s talons. Sesshomaru did not wince. He did not cry. He refused to let out a simple “ow.” He was as cold as ice. “Do you have any idea,” His father cried, “How horrified their parents will be? You cannot kill children… or… or anyone else for that matter!” He took hold of the child’s shoulders, digging his claws into his flesh, shaking him frantically.
Sesshomaru cracked a small smile. “And your point…?”
The man stopped, looking at Sesshomaru as if he were terrified of him. “I… I…” He got on his feet and went back into his sleeping quarters and slammed the door shut, rubbing his temples with shaky hands. “No.” He thought “I did not raise him to be this way…”
“Taisho?” A female voice called, luring the man to his bed. “What’s the matter?” She revealed herself from under the sheets. Two blue stripes ran across her face and her long hair was a light shade of indigo, framing her soft complexion. She was beautiful, yes, but her voice was not comforting. Nobody other than her very husband seemed to notice that.
“Sesshomaru…” Taisho began, swallowing the lump in his throat. “He killed two children, Daiyo…”
She shook her head, scraping her finger tips against her scalp. “What do we do, Taisho? Do you think he knows…?” she murmured, guilt infesting her soft voice.
Taisho sat on the bed, next to his former loved one. It was disgusting how she bore the mark of another, and yet still spent the majority of her life in his presents. “Of the ‘affair’? Maybe… your scent changed, you know. He could have noticed…”
Daiyo nodded, looking up at Taisho, her chartreuse eyes wishing to mend what couldn't. “I’m sorry.”
“I do not undermine your skills as a Mother, Daiyo… I’m sure you never wanted this…” There the broken couple sat quietly, not knowing what to do with their son, as Sesshomaru skipped stones in the backyard, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
He smiled inwardly to himself. “Brats…”

So, yeah. This is book one out of five (I know, right? Five? Well, I'm good at keeping myslef busy) in my Prophecy saga. Obviously, it's an Inu fic.
I don't particularly like this chap, or the next four chapters to come because I wrote them three years ago, and my skills as an author have drastically increased since then. I tried to edit them, but as much as I tried, they still ended up sounding like, well... like this. But don't worry. Chapter six was just writen recently, and sounds much better than the other ones.
